American Plum

Prunus americana             

Size: 2-3 feet   

Mature Height:  10-20 feet                                                                                                                           

Growth:  moderate to fast                                                                                                                             

Soil:  tolerates moist but well drained   

Bears white flowers in the spring and reddish purple 1 inch fruit in July-August which is great for jams and jellies.  This plant attracts songbirds and pollinators.  It is a good food producer and cover for small animals.
