Blackgold Cherry

Size:  4-6 feet      Sun       Mature Height:  12-15 feet

It is a large black, sweet cherry.  Ripens beginning of July usually a week after Bing.  Although most sweet cherries require a pollinator, Blackgold does not need a pollinator.  It is a good pollinator, however, for other varieties like Sam and Emperor Francis.  This tree is frost resistant and very hardy.  Crack resistant.  Good for late blooming varieties like ‘Sam’.

These trees will come as bareroot stock.  Dig hole wide enough to accommodate the roots when spread out.  Fill the hole and pat it down to eliminated air pockets.  Water thoroughly.  Soil around the base of the tree should be slightly higher so excess water does not puddle there.
