Very adaptable for landscape plantings with the white flowers in spring, red foliage and abundant deep purple berries in fall.    The berries can be used for juice and jelly and are also enjoyed by wildlife especially varied species of grouse and prairie chickens.  The berries are of high nutritional value.  Likes low moist but well-drained sites.
