Sun: Full. Is shade intolerant. The redness of the stem is directly related to the amount of sun.
This is a valued landscape plant because of the red stems. Frequently used in erosion control. Has creamy white flowers in June and has white berries. Provides dense cover for wildlife. This is an erect shrub and broad spreading.
